How to edit supported JPEG IPTC fields

Choose a JPEG and inspect its IPTC values. Set the title, caption, keywords or creator and copyright details you intend to change. Review the coordinated mappings, apply the changes and filter the output report to IPTC to inspect the saved IIM values.

Native IPTC IIM and coordinated copies

The supported JPEG fields include ObjectName, Headline, Caption-Abstract, Keywords, By-line, By-lineTitle, Credit, Source and CopyrightNotice. Logical fields also update their matching embedded XMP and, where mapped, EXIF representations to avoid competing old values. This is a coordinated metadata editor rather than an arbitrary raw-tag editor.

JPEG only for native IPTC IIM

This focused page accepts JPEG because native IPTC IIM writing is supported there. PNG and static WebP descriptive editing uses embedded XMP through the general or XMP editor. IIM limits are measured in UTF-8 bytes, including 64 bytes per keyword, 32 bytes per creator and 2,000 bytes for a caption; over-limit text is rejected rather than shortened.

Example: organise a caption and keyword list

Set a JPEG's caption to explain a community event and replace its keywords with community, festival and volunteers. Keep Creator and Copyright unchanged. Review the proposal and confirm the IPTC Caption-Abstract and Keywords values in the output report.

Processing, privacy and deletion

Originals, previews, reports and edited copies are stored privately on the ImageWing server, outside public media storage. Every private endpoint checks account or browser-session ownership. Preview derivatives contain no embedded metadata.

Uploads expire 60 minutes after upload. Downloads do not extend retention. Expired files become inaccessible immediately; the server cleanup command removes expired temporary files. Delete my files cancels active work; files in use are removed when processing stops or by cleanup. Presets are stored locally in your browser and exclude sensitive values unless you explicitly include them.
